The plans for Fun World Palace and Resort also call for a performing arts center with 65-hundred seats, 400 hotel rooms, 500 apartments in two towers, 120 thousand square feet of office space and 110-thousand square feet of retail space.
Developers need to finalize construction financing to build out the 31-acre site near the Mall of Stonecrest. Top Flight Development Group is in charge of the project that aims to draw from a retail market basin that reaches into south Georgia and eastward to Augusta and South Carolina.
Developers expect to start opening Fun World in two to three years. Rodney Zellner is a partner with the Atlanta-based development company. He believes Fun World's distance from downtown Atlanta will be a selling point. He says many families want a retreat from the hustle of the big city.

Two killed in Bangla amusement park mishap
Two persons, including a woman, were killed and two others injured on Saturday when they fell off a merry-go-round at an amusement park in southeastern Chittagong city, police said.
They said four of a family fell from a height of about 25 to 30 feet when their carriage of the merry-go-round was at near the top in the popular Foys' Lake amusement park where a large number of people had gathered for Eid celebrations.
The metal rope attached to the passenger carriage snapped as the saree of one of those killed jammed the wheels of the merry-go-round, police said.
All the injured were rushed to the Chittagong General Hospital where doctors declared two of them dead, while others were being treated.

Rust - Der größte deutsche Freizeitpark, der Europa-Park im badischen Rust (Ortenaukreis), hat seine diesjährige Hauptsaison mit einem Besucherrekord abgeschlossen. In diesem Jahr seien 3,5 Millionen Besucher gezählt worden, sagte Parkchef Roland Mack zum Saisonende am Sonntag. Dies seien rund 100 000 Besucher mehr als im Vorjahr. Damit habe der Park das beste Ergebnis in seiner 30-jährigen Firmengeschichte erreicht. Der Europa-Park ist 1975 gegründet worden und zählt heute nach eigenen Angaben knapp 3000 Mitarbeiter.
Der Europa-Park entwickele sich immer mehr zu einem eigenständigen Kurzreiseziel, sagte Mack. Dieser Trend habe sich in der abgelaufenen Saison verstärkt. Der Anteil der Mehrtagesbesucher sei deutlich gestiegen. Bereits jeder vierte Besucher habe 2005 in einem der vier parkeigenen Hotels übernachtet. Jeder fünfte Besucher sei mehrmals im Jahr in den Park gekommen.
Am 26. November startet der Europa-Park in seine mittlerweile fünfte Wintersaison. Geplant sind winterliche Attraktionen, Shows sowie ein Weihnachtsmarkt. Zur Wintersaison, die bis zum 8. Januar 2006 dauert, werden rund 300 000 Besucher erwartet.
Das Schwarzwälder Freilichtmuseum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach (Ortenaukreis) beendete seine diesjährige Saison am Sonntag mit einem Besucherrückgang. In diesem Jahr seien 240 000 Besucher gezählt worden, sagte eine Sprecherin. Dies seien rund 20 000 weniger als im vergangenen Jahr. Als Gründe nannte die Sprecherin das regnerische Wetter im August sowie das allgemein sinkende Interesse von Einheimischen und Touristen an Freilichtmuseen. Der Vogtsbauernhof zählt nach eigenen Angaben zu den größten Freilichtmuseen in Baden- Württemberg.
