73 People Get Stranded On Theme Park Ride
Officials at Busch Gardens in Tampa say 73 people were stranded when the Skyride at the theme park stalled for two hours.The guests who boarded the park's cable car ride were stranded 50 feet in the air starting at 7:20pm Saturday night -- 10 minutes before closing.
Tampa fire and rescue crews were on standby, but the passengers did not have to evacuate. The Busch Gardens staff talked to passengers over a speaker system. The final passenger disembarked around 10pm. A car on the ride apparently misaligned, stopping movement. Officials say the 32-year-old ride is inspected for safety every year.
