Six Flags shuts down giant Kingda Ka roller coaster

Six Flags Inc., the world's largest regional theme park operator, closed the Kingda Ka roller coaster at its Great Adventure park in New Jersey for repairs after a malfunction during testing. The ride will be shut for several weeks.

There were no injuries from the malfunction, Six Flags said.

Shares of Six Flags fell 9 cents, or 2 percent, to $4.19 at 10:46 a.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. They have fallen 22 percent this year.
